A couple of weeks ago I shared with everyone how I was taking part in the Impossibilities Challenge.

My little sofa make-over may end up being impossible after all (basically due to lack of time and energy), but I thought I would share my progress with everyone.
My project is to bring some life back to my boring sofa (without breaking the bank)…
I am sure it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I LOVE all the bold floral prints I have seen lately. It’s everywhere, sofas, chairs, rugs.

The first part of my mission was to find a bold floral print fabric without spending a fortune. I found some great options at JoAnn, but some of them were $40 a yard! Eek. I was hoping to get 2 yards. I decided to take a trip to the Loomcraft Warehouse that’s about 1/2 hour away from our house. This place is awesome! I raved about it before when I was in search of the perfect dining room chair fabric.
Check out all the options…
And all of them were less than $15 a yard. I ended up with the last one because I liked the dark brown background, and I think it will look great on the sofa.
I also found a remnant for $2.50 that was almost exactly the color and texture of the original sofa so this will come in very handy.
My master plan is to replace the back cushions on the current couch. I have some sewing to do!
How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun and/or crafty? What do you have planned for the week ahead?

I think that fabric is fantastic. My hubby is more into neutrals, so as a compromise I use fun fabrics like that for pillows on out boring tan slipcover

I love that fabric and I think florals in large patterns like that look beautiful. I decided to accept your challenge to do something impossible. If might be impossible this month. Free time has become a thing of the past lately. I am excited about seeing your sofa though.

You are lucky that you know how to sew, it is such a money saver. When you do your own sewing the possibilities are endless. The sofa is sure to be a nice accent.

I LOVE the bold floral prints too and was thinking about covering a couple chairs in something similar. I need to find a Loomcraft near me!

Wow, that fabric is fantastic! You are brave to put it on your sofa – I think I could only have the boldness for a throw pillow.
I can’t WAIT to see what this looks like – I bet it will be amazing!
