Happy Valentines Day! Today is probably the best day to make Whoopie…pies that is. A while back I mentioned how I enjoyed the best pumpkin whoopie pie (ever) while I was living in Maine years ago. After reading that post, my mom bought me a whoopie pie book: Whoopie Pies Dozens of Mix’em, Match’em, Eat’em Up Recipes by Sarah Billingsley and Amy Treadwell.
There literally are dozens of recipes in this book, and you can mix and match the different cakes with different fillings. I am sure I will get around to being creative, but today I kept it simple. Kevin loves pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake, so I thought I would try my hand at the pumpkin whoopie pie with cream cheese filling. When I saw the heart shaped pan at Walmart I was sold…
Aren’t they cute? And they taste pretty great too. Did you make any baked goods for your loved one? Or maybe a special dinner is on it’s way?
I hope you have a sweet Valentine’s Day!
P.S. I have been getting kind of lazy about making posts. I am going to try to get them out every Tuesday and Thursday…hopefully! Find me on Facebook or sign up via email so you can keep up with me if I go missing every now and then!

Whoopie pies have been on my baking to-do list for ages! These sound delicious. I might try making some this weekend!

Those looks fiercely delicious! I am drooling just thinking about them.
My Kevin loves whoopie pies. His mom always picks him up a bunch whenever she goes to the local Amish Farmer’s Market. They’re pretty good, but these honestly look better.

I love whoopie pies. When you lived in Maine did you get them from Wicked Whoopies? They are the best! They have a booth at the BIG E in Maine House every year and Hubby and I always stop in. I love the lemon, Pumpkin and Red Velvet ones. They also have ones the size of cakes.

I’ve never had a whoopie pie either but they sound really good! I ended up making Michael Luke orange sorbet for dessert last night. It was really hard to pass on the chocolate or some other kind of unhealthy dessert but he loves fruit so I decided to with what he likes.
