Cupcake Bouquet

Welcome back.  I hope everyone had a Happy Father’s Day!  Did you do anything special?  Kevin, the daddy-to-be, had to work all day, so I spent the afternoon at my parents house. It was nice to spend time with my family on Father’s Day.

Before I headed off to my parents I managed to bake Kevin some cupcakes.  He loves carrot cake, so I decided to whip up a quick mix…

In case anyone likes carrot cake, this is seriously the best mix ever.  It comes with dehydrated carrots and raisins that you soak in hot water before adding to the mix.  It really makes the cake taste homemade…yum!

Kevin bought me flowers on Mother’s Day, so I wanted to give him some fancy cupcakes for his day.  A few months ago I had seen this on Pinterest (via 52 Kitchen Adventures)…

How to Make a Cupcake Bouquet

and I figured this was the perfect time to try it out!  Check out 52 Kitchen Adventures for the how-tos.

We already had a similar flower pot, so I went out and got a styrofoam ball and a tip to ice the cupcakes.  Here’s how mine turned out:

Kevin actually thought it was pretty cool, and I think it turned out cute!

I bought a different tip than was recommended on the how-tos, but I think the icing still turned out like flowers.  I am glad I had a chance to test this out, now I am trying to think of when I can make it next…maybe 4th of July?

Have you seen this on Pinterest?  Have you tried anything like this before?

I think I need to go eat a cupcake now :) Have a great Tuesday!!
