A Coffee Table Steal and Other Deals

A few weeks ago I wrote about going to Savers (a thrift store) and finding some deals, and some not so deals.  Well, I stopped by there this past weekend and I found a steal of a deal.  This time I had Kevin’s SUV so I had tons of space to fill it with goodies.  Before I show off my purchases, let me just say that the overpriced jewelry cabinet was not there anymore…so I guess it was sold.

Let’s start off with my favorite purchase:  here is the coffee table I picked up for $3.99.  Yes $3.99!

It’s definitely not perfect, but with some TLC and some paint it is going to be fabulous!  I’ve been trying to figure out what I want to do with it, and I think I have decided that it needs to be stenciled.  I remember this one episode of Design Star (from last season) where someone painted the top of  a coffee table and the finished table looked so cute.

It is going to stay in our sunroom, and I actually like the brown tone that it is now.  I think I’ll go with something like this beautiful table I saw at Domestic Imperfection:

I’m thinking off white distressed legs (possibly just left over wall paint from the sunroom), and brown and off white on top.  The table above is actually stained, but I am sure I can obtain a very similar look with paint.  I can’t wait to pick out a stencil!

The other two deals I found are not quite as great, but close seconds…

A $6.99 solid wood kid’s rocking chair that will hopefully get lots of use someday…

And a $2.99 rack of hooks?

I am assuming this is supposed to be a necklace or tie rack already, but I will just make it prettier with some paint!  I have been trying to figure out how to hang up my necklaces for what seems like forever, and I finally have a solution.  I have to give Gabbi at Retro Ranch Reno some credit for motivating me by showing off her new accessory holder.  Now I just have to get it painted and hung…no promises on when that will happen, lol.

Have you found any deals lately?  What do you think of the stenciled table?  Would you dare?
