Today we are talking finger painting! I know, it sounds exciting. Let me explain…
A few months ago I had to have major surgery while pregnant, and I was pretty down in the dumps before and after the surgery. (You can read more about that mess here-I actually updated the post after I wrote it…turns out I really did have cancer, but anyways…). In an attempt to cheer me up (with the help of their mommy) my three nephews made some fabulous paintings for me. I was so happy to get three huge finger painted posters in the mail one day. It really did make me smile
Now two months later, the cute posters still make me smile…but what I can I do with them? They are huge! I can’t just throw them away.
I decided to give them a new look. I took a photo of each poster and shrunk/cropped it down to a 4″ x 6″…
Then I printed them out and popped them into a new frame.
Piece of cake. Now I don’t feel bad ditching the big posters. I’ll always have these sweet paintings to make me smile.
Now I just need to frame about twenty more things and I’ll have a great gallery wall!
Is anyone else working on a gallery wall out there? Any other tips on saving precious works of art?

This is such a great idea … you’ll have to file it away for when Mr. Baby arrives!!!

This is adorable. Makes me smile, too. I misses the original post about the surgery (I was MIA on blog reading for a long time after having Henry). I’m so sorry you had to go through that.

What a great idea!! I have a two-year-old, so I know piles of gigantic posters are in my future. LOVE the idea to shrink them down. That would even work great to save them as digital files for later, then you could lose all the papers. So smart!

Such a good idea – and something to keep in mind to help manage the PILES of pictures, paintings, & projects that your little one will be doing in a few years!

Aww this is so cute! And smart to shrink them down. I’m sorry to hear you had cancer, but stay strong!! I’ve heard from several people that a positive frame of mind can do wonders for one’s health!
