Last week I mentioned that we had Kevin’s baptism on January 20th, and today I just wanted to make a quick post about our boy’s special day. Quite a bit of planning went into the event, and Kevin and I were very happy with the entire day. Baby K didn’t even make a peep when the priest poured the water on his sweet little head.
Kevin and I chose his sister and my brother to be Kevin Jr’s Godparents. We are so blessed to have them both in our lives.
Months before the ceremony Kevin and I booked a room at a local golf course to host a lunch. We invited about 70 people, and ended up having about 45. It is so hard to plan an event when you have no idea how many people will come. Many of the rooms we looked at would only accommodate 30-40 people, so we had to keep searching. At the end of the day, the hall we picked was perfect and the food was great too.
In the days before the party I spent hours in the kitchen making favors for all our guests, and running around getting last minute items like these centerpieces.
The hall provided the mirror and votives. I added a Dollar Tree vase with ribbon for the bright yellow tulips I bought at Dominick’s the day before.
Come back later in the week and I’ll share the details on some delicious salted caramels and DIY favor boxes. But before we talk about creamy delicious caramels, let’s talk diets. More specifically, my diet. Here is a cute family photo of the Kevins and me:
Currently I am about 4 months post baby, and have lost about 36 pounds (about 20-ish came off quickly) since having him. I still have a long way to go, but I know it takes time. The good news is my clothes are starting to fit again, and I feel more like a human instead of an Umpa Lmpa. Since joining Weight Watchers I have lost 9.4 lbs and Kevin has lost 19. Yes, 19. What the heck?! Why is it so much easier for men to lose weight?! Not fair!
Have you lost any weight lately? What is the key to your success? What else isn’t fair?!

You look great!! Wow, 36 pounds is veeeery impressive. Unfortunately for me I’ve gained quite a few pounds since the wedding. I should start working on losing them… the problem is that I like eating way too much

You look fabulous! Congrats on dropping all that weight so quickly! I’ve had to change my diet a bit and ended up falling below my base weight (but for a while there, I was hanging out above it, which I was not a fan of).

The baptism looks beautiful! And you look fantastic! 36lbs!!! Congratulations! I have recently started going to the gym to take group fitness classes – not to lose weight but just as a social thing – and I have to say, I love it. I’m feeling fitter and firmer and I’m having so much fun!
