I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Ours was great until big Kevin ended up having emergency surgery on Sunday night. It’s a long story, but just know that Kevin is doing great and he is at home recuperating! After all that he went through I started to feel bad about the sofa table (and I don’t think he will be making one anytime soon), so I thought I’d make fun of myself a little…
(Of course I had to use a photo from our Honeymoon when I was skinny and tan…was there any other option?)
Kevin really wants to build a bar and fix up the basement. I am all for it, as soon as we have some extra money to do so. Until then let’s just look at some man cave inspiration (click on image for source)…
This would be great if it were The Cubs…and it even has a little hot dog machine!
This DIY bar was made by Ashley’s husband over at Decorating Obsessed (via DIY Show Off). I love the vintage signs they hung on the wall. Kevin already has a few signs to hang including a huge vintage Hot Dog sign my dad picked from a hot dog stand that was going out of business (did anyone else notice that I mentioned hot dogs twice…Kevin has a thing for hot dogs. It’s possible he loves them more than me. Check out his grooms cake from our wedding).
This bar would probably be Kevin’s dream come true. He loves fish, and would love to somehow incorporate a tank into the bar.
I don’t know how a “normal person” could pull this Fire Engine Bar off, but it’s pretty sweet. I have a feeling it would become more of a toddler cave over time. Anyone want a shot of apple juice?
Who already has a bar in their house? Does anyone know what actually happens in a man cave? Is anyone else planning on building one?

I love the first two man caves! Very attainable. Those vintage signs are awesome. I hope Kevin is doing well!!

Glad to hear that Kevin is doing well! I love photos 1 and 3. The first seems like the easiest to pull off, but I love the fish tank detail in #3.

We have a TON of ideas for Travis’ future man-cave, which really will just be our “entertaining room” for my Uncle’s and Travis’ friends. But girls are definitely allowed in the area
It will just be a lot of manly stuff, like beer, wood & football related stuff. Travis and my Uncle are planning on building our bar, as soon as we buy a house. (My Uncle already has two bars under his belt, so I’m not worried about it
)
Good luck with yours!

I’m glad he’s doing well…I hope he’s recovered ASAP!! You are so sweet to do a post for him. I’m not sure we’ll have a “man cave” in our house, but I’m pretty sure we’ll have a nice place to hang out in our basement once we win the lottery hehe.

Can’t wait for you guys to start that project! We have a bar in the basement but not nearly as cool as the pictures above!!!!
Glad to hear Kevin is home and doing OK!

Thinking of you guys! Hope everyone is doing well!

Haha! Love the Hey Man! That’s great! And those are some awesome bars! We may eventually build one for our patio, maybe lol.
Hope Kevin continues to have a speedy recovery!

I love the ideas for Kevin’s man cave! I’m glad he’s doing well! Surgery is never good (especially when it’s “emergency”)!
A man cave was part of the “must have” list when we bought the Little House. No big deal, I thought. He can have the basement.
Turns out Texas doesn’t do basements. And so my Kevin didn’t get a man cave… yet.

Hope Kevin is resting and recovering quickly! Love the hey man! Haha
Great inspiration photos- they all have great aspects!

Glad he’s doing better! I’m interested to see how this goes – my husband also wants a man cave but neither of us knows where to start.

Oh bummer about that accident. I hope he is feeling better! I would be bummed about that table moving into the future too. Love your Hey Man
awesome. The man caves look great. I like the one with the fish tank although I am not a fish person, but that speaks to me. We don’t have a space for a man cave. My dh will have to settle for a chair-cave

Haha! Very cute. Glad to hear he is doing well. Scary! He totally deserves a man cave and you’ve found tons of great inspiration!

You know you are a good wife when you can say YES to a basement bar
I was at a relatives over the holidays and they had an extra oven and fridge in their basement bar — perfect for potluck parties when there is lots of food needing storage and warming. I can only dream!

Now that’s a good idea! We could definitely use a second fridge. I’ll have to add that to the list!

Glad big Kevin is okay now!
LOL I did think it was funny that hot dogs were mentioned twice in one post! You guys must love your hot dogs! A bar would be cool to have – I’ll skip the apple juice and take a cosmopolitan!

I hope Kevin continues to feel better! And now I want a hot dog maker in my girl cave!

Of course you had to use that picture, you look fantastic in it!! You will get there. And about the man cave … I’ve always wanted a sport themed room/bar/basement … no better place to eat a hot dog I say (although I don’t eat hot dogs, oh well!)
