Our Wedding

Kevin and I had our dream wedding on September 3rd, 2010.  We said our vows in Holy Name Cathedral in the Chicago’s scenic Goldcoast neighborhood, and our reception was on the 15th floor of the Sun Times building set along the Chicago River.  The many months of planning were over before we knew it, but we have many beautiful photos to remember our special day. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I will let the photos do most of the talking…

We were very lucky to say our “I do’s” at Holy Name.  A year before our wedding the church had a major fire that destroyed the roof, ceiling, and many of the pillars and pews.  After months of renovation the church re-opened it’s doors…and not a moment to soon!

In the weeks before the wedding I made 150 hand embossed wedding programs; they turned out beautifully

I was trying so hard not to cry…

After the ceremony we took a trolley around the city taking photos.   Our photographer, Brian Kinyon, was amazing!

We used a budding new florist, and she did a fantastic job.   All of our flowers were perfect thanks to Kristen Gavin with Blushing Blossoms.

We had two amazing cakes, and cookie favors for the guests to take.  The grooms cake was carrot, and the wedding cake was a mouth watering almond cake with caramel filling and Italian butter cream frosting…and I think we had the best cake topper ever

Kevin actually painted that Bride’s hair brown (apparently only red-heads pinch their husband)…

Instead of a guest book we opted to make a wish tree for our guests to leave us a bit of advice or a wish for our future:

After all the time and planning that went into just one day, we kicked back, had a couple of our signature cocktails and danced the night away!

This is only the beginning, and I have a feeling the best is yet to come…
