Every Disney packing list on the internet is 75 items long and written like you're deploying overseas. Here's the honest version.
You don't need most of what those lists tell you. This is what actually matters, from a dad who does this trip every year and still forgets something anyway.
3Rope drop means 6:40 on vacation
The hat is not optional
Nobody's hair survives a rope-drop wakeup call, and the Florida sun doesn't quit for the next twelve hours. A good broken-in hat fixes both. Grab whatever favorite lives on your truck seat.
4Not sorry about this one
Packing cubes changed my life
One cube per person. The kids' stuff stops migrating into your stuff, day-of outfits take ten seconds to find, and repacking for home takes five minutes instead of an hour. If you've never used them, this is the trip to start.
5Learn from my mistakes
The boring stuff that actually matters
A phone battery pack, because the parks app drains everything by noon. Sunscreen in the day bag, not back at the hotel. Moleskin on day one, not after the damage is done. And one empty duffel folded flat in the suitcase, because souvenirs happen to the best of us.
The shirts, though? You can handle those before you leave. That's kind of our whole thing.
See you at the parks.
